About this scholarship
Florida law waives tuition and fees at Florida College System institutions and state universities for students who spent time in the state's foster care system. Students claim the exemption through their school's financial aid office.
Who can apply
Students who were in out-of-home care at age 18, were the subject of a shelter, dependency, or termination of parental rights proceeding, were adopted from Florida DCF after May 5, 1997, or were placed in guardianship. The exemption can be used up to age 28.
