Every student, teacher, and sponsor should be able to use Thank a Teacher, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and to support the accessibility expectations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508.
What we do
- Readable text sizes and color contrast designed to meet AA standards
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus outlines
- Clear headings, labeled form fields, and descriptive link text for screen readers
- Text descriptions for meaningful photos
- Layouts that work on phones, tablets, and computers, and when zoomed to 200%
- Plain-language writing wherever we can
Known limitations
Scholarship applications are hosted on each sponsor's own website, and some of our downloadable PDF templates may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We cannot control the accessibility of outside sites. If a page or document is hard to use, tell us and we will provide the information another way.
