About this scholarship

Mississippi's FAITH Scholarship (Fostering Access and Inspiring True Hope) covers up to the full cost of attendance at Mississippi colleges for students who spent time in state custody. Applications run through the MAAPP portal, open October 1 to September 15 each year.

Who can apply

Students who were in the legal custody of Mississippi Child Protection Services since age 13 or older, in a qualified residential facility since age 13, or adopted from CPS custody since age 13. Applicants must be under 25.

Every scholarship in this directory is exclusively for current or former foster youth. Read the sponsor’s own eligibility rules before you start — they decide who qualifies.

How to submit your application

  2. 2. Gather your documents. Use the checklist to the side so you are not scrambling at the last minute.
  3. 3. Open the sponsor’s application. The button below takes you straight to Mississippi Office of State Financial Aid. Your application is submitted there, directly to them.
  4. 4. Save your confirmation. Keep the confirmation email or reference number, and follow up with the sponsor if you do not hear back.
