About this scholarship
Forward Steps Guardian Scholars supports Colorado current and former foster youth pursuing a postsecondary education with financial support, one-on-one professional mentoring, and skill-building. Scholars receive a $1,500 baseline stipend split across each semester plus up to $1,500 in additional support for emergency needs, housing and childcare.
Who can apply
Colorado current or former foster youth who are currently enrolled, or will be enrolled, in an associate, bachelor, trade or certificate program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with priority deadlines of June 30 for fall and October 31 for spring.
Every scholarship in this directory is exclusively for current or former foster youth. Read the sponsor’s own eligibility rules before you start — they decide who qualifies.
How to submit your application

- 2. Gather your documents. Use the checklist to the side so you are not scrambling at the last minute.

- 4. Save your confirmation. Keep the confirmation email or reference number, and follow up with the sponsor if you do not hear back.
